Camping

Got back from "camping" today, which consisted of us staying in a Guest house in which our room was actually nicer than the room we stay in regularly. Though the night we got tehre it was nothing short of a hurricane. Although i know hurricanes can't really happen in the mountains.. it seemed like it. We were eating dinner on teh roof of the building and all of a sudden the wind picked up and started blowing EVERYTHING. It picked up chairs that no one was sitting in and threw them like 20 feet back. The wind started breaking windows in some people's rooms. It was pretty crazy. We watched the storm for a bit, which was nothing like I had seen before becuase we were so high up we could see so many clouds.. and the lightening in teh clouds.. And then watched movies on my laptop, becuase of course the power had gone out.

The next day we climbed to a "waterfall" which was climbing over like sheer rocks to get to what was water dribbling over some rocks into a pond. It was pretty cool though because the water was so clear and there was a little shack that had snacks in it which I got a Sprite. woot. Then we had to climb back, which it's been pretty hot. But all in all it was fun. We stayed teh rest of that night there and then came home this morning. But not before more shopping in Macleod Ganj. Successful day all in all.

This next week we get to meet the Dalai Lama and the Karmapa, which are both ridiculously high lama's and its kind of crazy we actually get to meet them. Equivalent of like meeting two Pope's. Each one is like the head of two of the four sects of Tibetan Buddhism. Basically it's a super unique opportunity, basically due to the connections Emory has. Pretty cool stuff.
